Privacy policy
Last updated: 19 October 2026
In short: what you drink stays on your phone. No ads, no audience measurement, no data sold. The Friends account and the waitlist are optional, and you can delete them whenever you want.
Who is responsible
The watermochi app and this website are published by Mohamed Belgacem, Sole trader (EI), trading as Afweb · SIRET 817 752 983 00020 · Paris, France. Contact: .
What the app keeps on your phone only
Your drinks, your goal, the reference you chose, your settings and reminders, your progress in Explore and your appearance choices are saved only on your phone. We have no access to them. Reminders are scheduled by your phone itself.
You can export or erase this log in Settings → My data; uninstalling the app erases it too. The app opts out of Android’s cloud backup, so this log never leaves your phone that way either.
The Friends account (optional)
To add friends and invite them to drink with you, you can create an account. We then keep:
- your sign-in email and nickname, and your password stored only as a hash; or, if you sign in with Google, the name, email and profile picture address Google gives us;
- your friendships, requests, mutes and blocks;
- invitations to drink (who, which drink, when), for 7 days at most; requests not accepted are deleted after 30 days;
- your friend card: only what you choose to show (Mochi, badges, discoveries, quiz streak, favourite drink, rounded total, cards read), visible to accepted friends only;
- for each signed-in device: the session, the IP address and browser or app version used to sign in, and a notification identifier. Devices unused for 90 days are removed.
Your daily log, your goal and your profile are never sent. Account emails (address check, password reset) are sent through Cloudflare. Purpose: running the Friends feature you asked for (contract). The account is kept until you delete it; deletion is immediate, and leftover copies in technical backups disappear within 30 days. See how to delete your account.
Premium purchases
Payments go through Google Play: we never see your bank details. RevenueCat manages your Premium status with an anonymous identifier created by the app and the purchase details (product, date, renewal). Neither your log nor your profile is sent to it. Purpose: giving you what you bought (contract) and meeting our accounting obligations.
Notifications
Hydration reminders are created on your phone. Invitations from friends travel through Expo’s notification service and your phone’s push service (Firebase Cloud Messaging for Android), with the name of the friend and the drink.
The waitlist (this website)
When you join, we keep your email, your language, whether you want to test the app, and the date and wording of your consent. Purpose: telling you about the launch and, if you asked, inviting you to the Android test; for that, your email is added to the testers of our Play Console. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. Kept until you unsubscribe, and at most one year after the app’s launch.
The form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that you are human from technical signals of your browser, without advertising cookies.
The website
The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes technical data (IP address, requests) to deliver and protect it. No audience measurement, no advertising cookies, and the font is served by the site itself.
